Arabic Noun Inflector

Synopsis

The Arabic Noun Declension Generation System is one of the MAPS suite for orthography, a productivity tool for generating full-form Arabic nouns based on arguments and parameters controlled by the user; the system accepts roots in the input and generates the fully diacritized noun surface forms with transcription.

Oveview

Arabic noun declension is the process of inflecting nouns to their sub-grammatical categories, MAPS inflects every single Arabic noun to more than dozen of categories including the classes e.g. Verbal Noun, Active Participle, Passive Participle, Hyperbolic Participle, Superlative, Instrumental Noun, and the Broken Plural together with other sub-derivatives like Diminutive, Locative Noun, Numerative Noun and three cases Accusative, Nominative, and Genitive; the first group is directly derived from their parallel verbs since they are grammatically classified as nouns.

Other stem inherent or generic characteristics e.g. semantic classification are not reflected in the table below, they have rather been dealt with in a direct hard-coding basis throughout the declension.

In the sample below both enclitics and proclitics are shown unmarked though they are in the real output if the module is configured to do so. Please refer to Kalmasoft Arabic Transliteration System here KATS.
